Longer-Term Tamoxifen Use Significantly Reduces Risk of Recurrence.

Women diagnosed with early stage breast cancer who take Tamoxifen for a full five years have a significantly reduced incidence of recurrence compared to women who stop taking the medication after 2 years according to a study recently published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. An added benefit was that it also reduced the risk of developing a heart condition or dying from heart disease.
